Recycles Paper! Campaign Kick-Off
Thursday, November 15th
11 am to 12 pm
Springfield Materials
Recycling Facility, 84 Birnie Ave, Springfield
Each year in Massachusetts, over 1.5
million tons of paper is thrown in the trash. MassRecycle, Inc.
has organized the Mass Recycles
Paper! Campaign to encourage residents and businesses to divert
one million tons of this paper from the waste stream to recycling each
year. The Mass Recycles Paper!
Campaign kick-off will be held at Springfield Materials
Recycling Facility (MRF) to highlight this successful public-private
partnership between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 78 Western Mass
Communities, and private industry. Since it began operating in
1990, the MRF has processed over 1 billion pounds of recyclables and
paid municipalities nearly $8 million in revenue. Contact
Karen Patterson, Campaign Manager at 508-505-0851 for more details.
